Leeds United Umbro Home shirt from c1963. In season 1963-64 Leeds United were crowned 2nd Division Champions to be promoted back to the First Division starting the "Glory Years" which lasted 10-12 years. This shirt is the number 11 shirt that was worn by Leeds' South African superstar winger Albert Johanneson who went on to become the first Black footballer to play in a FA Cup Final at Wembley in 1965. It is in very good aged condition, it has no Leeds badge on the front, as it is one of the very FIRST Leeds United white shirts. Alberts' famous number 11 is hand stitched onto the reverse of the shirt. What makes this shirt absolutely incredible is the fact that it is fully signed by the players of the day. I have never ever seen a shirt signed by ALL of these players before. This is amazing but here goes ....the shirt is signed by BILLY BREMNER, DON REVIE, ALBERT JOHANNESON, LESLIE COCKER, BOBBY COLLINS, JACK CHARLTON, JOHNNY GILES, SYD OWEN, PETER LORIMER, EDDIE GRAY, WILLIE BELL, GARY SPRAKE, BARRIE WRIGHT, MICK BATES, MICK O'GRADY, ALAN PEACOCK, WILLIE BELL, PAUL REANEY, JIMMY GREENHOFF, JIM STORRIE, NORMAN HUNTER, TERRY COOPER AND PAUL MADELEY.
Well, there you go. What can you say about this shirt. It truely is the BEST.
